Mission for Lisi - - Business Game Income/Outcome
Background / Issues
Lisi is a group specialized in the design and manufacture of assembly solutions in three sectors: aeronautics, automotive and medical.
Originally, the finance department of the aeronautics division wanted to improve understanding of the issues at stake between financial and operational staff. The aim was for participants to acquire a minimum level of financial knowledge, as well as an understanding of the Group's performance indicators.
Scope and target
The course is aimed at all Group operational staff who manage budgets, whether at division, plant or production line level - in short, all Group operational managers and support functions.
Teaching methods and tools
2-day face-to-face course consisting of :
Day 1: Business Simulation Income/Outcome® A fun day in which participants, in teams, compete to be the most successful company: they quickly learn the basics of balance sheet, income statement and cash flow management, as well as the notions of budget, breakeven point, debt capacity, ratios, etc....
Day 2: Starting with the basics seen the day before, we go back over the principles and deepen the concepts from the perspective of the Lisi group. Training with drawers: 6 themes are compulsory (budget, investment...) and two are selected the day before by the participants. Facilitated by a Finance department manager to give even more consistency to the topics covered.
Results
Launched in its pilot form in spring 2018, this training is now part of the Group's core manager training curriculum run two to three times a year.
The participants expressed their satisfaction with the mix of teamwork and the very practical, illustrated contribution of concrete, real-life examples.
Business simulation is also a great team-building tool.
